Precast Structure Projects

Xypex Admix is blended into the concrete at time of batching enabling companies manufacturing precast products such as manholes, box culverts, pipe, architectural panels and highway median barriers to waterproof their products before they leave the plant.

Project Listing
  • Sorek Desalination Plant

    South of Tel Aviv, Israel

The project used over 300 tonnes of Xypex C-500 NF Admixture as well as Xypex Concentrate and Xypex Patch’n Plug for joints and other works. Xypex is proud to have been a part of this highly successful project.
  • Taylor Shellfish Processing Facility

    Shelton, Washington, USA

Xypex Admix C-500 is providing built-in permanent protection against the harsh saltwater environment in the new wet processing facilities at Taylor Shellfish Farms. Saves construction time and eliminates future maintenance.
  • Industrial Building

    Kopavogur, Iceland

This roof top parking area was constructed in 2003 with an 8 cm topping over precast panels. Xypex was chosen as the only waterproofing method for this project. Xypex Admix C-1000 NF was used at a 1.5% dosage rate. Directly after construction, there was an area with minor leakage but this was fixed with an application of Xypex Concentrate. This project was visited in spring 2017 and it has remained dry since it was built.
  • The Bolles School

    Jacksonville, Florida, USA

The new building at Bolles School, in Jacksonville Florida, was constructed out of pre-cast concrete panels. Xypex Admix C-500 NF was used to provide complete waterproofing for the above grade concrete walls and post tension roof panels. The purpose of using Xypex products was to provide sustainability for the building.
  • Cast-in-Place Underground Vault

    Manteca, California, USA

The utility agreed to the crystalline waterproofing combined with a rolled-on membrane for extra protection. In total, the team mixed Xypex Admix C-500 into 80 cubic yards of concrete mix. The vault project was complete on time and budget. Soon after, the utility selected Machado and Sons Construction to build another vault. Machado plans to use Xypex on that one as well.

  • Dee Why Seawall

    Dee Why, Australia

Xypex Admix was used in the mix design to help achieve greater concrete durability. Durability was one of the most important objectives in the design of this seawall. Aesthetics were also a prime objective and a beige oxide was added to the Xypex Admix used in all visible areas.
  • Centro Hotel, Sharjah Airport

    Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Waterproofing membranes had originally been specified in the elevator pits for this prestigious hotel. Following extensive worldwide use of Xypex in this application, it was decided to use Xypex Admix C-1000 as a more efficient alternative for the ready-mix concrete, together with Xypex Concentrate for joints and tie-holes. After successful flooding-tests, Xypex was then specified and successfully used in water tanks and reservoirs.
  • Pennsylvania Turnpike

    Pennsylvania, USA

In a 4-year program that involved the use of more than 1.5 million pounds of product, Xypex Admix was used in the 150 miles of precast concrete barriers and the 5 miles of retaining walls that serve the busy northeast U.S. connector. Xypex successfully addressed the problems of freeze-thaw deterioration and chloride ion attack by waterproofing, protecting, and enhancing the durability of the concrete from the moment it was poured.
  • Olympic Games Monument

    Seoul, Korea

This monument with the Olympic symbol was built for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and is located at the Olympic Park site. A two-coat application of Xypex Concentrate and Modified was applied to all fountain areas surrounding the monument and to foundation walls and slab of a cultural display facility constructed under ground. The total area treated was 4,000 m2 (43,000 sq. ft.).
  • Ministry of Finance

    Putrajaya, Malaysia

Approximately 4,325 m3 of Xypex Admix C-2000 NF was used to waterproof and protect the bottom of the raft slab in the one-level basement of this landmark government structure. The water feature at the front of the building was waterproofed with Xypex Concentrate and Modified.
