  • Marie-Victorin Park Multisport Complex

    Saint-Bruno-de- Montarville, Canada

The project includes pools, basins, elevator pits, and associated concrete structures requiring durable waterproofing and long-term protection against water exposure. During construction, certain critical areas including elevator pits and technical pits required a reliable waterproofing solution following the removal of membrane systems in select locations. These areas required a repair and waterproofing approach that could restore concrete integrity while maintaining constructability and long-term durability.

To address these conditions, Xypex Admix C-500 NF crystalline waterproofing admixture was specified for the elevator pit concrete structures, with approximately 130 m3 of treated concrete placed. In addition, Xypex repair materials including Xypex Patch’n Plug, Xypex Megamix II, and Xypex Concentrate were used to address honeycombing, surface defects, and joint details in accordance with the project drawings and specifications. The use of the Xypex system provided an integrated crystalline waterproofing solution while reducing reliance on surface membranes and supporting long term durability of the treated concrete elements. The selected approach helps maintain the performance and service life of critical structural components within the Marie-Victorin Park Multisport Complex.
