Project Detail
  • Saint-Lin Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

    Saint-Lin–Laurentides, Canada

The project, located at Well P8, includes new below-grade reservoirs, treatment basins, and process buildings designed to meet stringent provincial standards for potable water infrastructure. Due to continuous exposure to moisture, hydrostatic pressure, and the need to maintain watertight conditions, the project required a long term waterproofing solution that would eliminate the need for external membranes.

To achieve this, Xypex Admix C-500 was incorporated into the concrete supplied by Béton Adam, providing integral crystalline waterproofing throughout all liquid retaining and below-grade concrete elements. For added surface protection, one coat of Xypex Concentrate and one coat of Xypex Modified were applied by Groupe Lefebvre to interior concrete surfaces.

Together, these products form a continuous crystalline barrier that seals micro cracks, resists hydrostatic pressure, and protects against water ingress from any direction — ideal for potable water structures where long-term performance and non-toxicity are critical. The Xypex system offered a constant and maintenance-free alternative to external membranes, simplifying construction and ensuring a durable, watertight structure. Its proven crystalline technology extends service life, minimizes lifecycle costs, and supports the municipality’s goal of delivering reliable, safe, and high-quality drinking water to the Saint-Lin–Laurentides community.
