In this naturally humid and rain-prone region, the owner set exceptionally high standards for waterproofing performance, emphasizing long-term durability and minimal maintenance. After a thorough evaluation process, XYPEX, the crystalline waterproofing brand from Canada, was selected as the core solution for the entire building. Waterproofing Design and Application To meet the specific requirements of various structural elements, Hotel Beore adopted two XYPEX products:
1. Xypex C-1000NF — applied in the following key structural areas:
• Elevator pit: Enhances impermeability and durability
• Ground slab (1F): Improves the foundation’s resistance to rising moisture
• Roof projections: Ensures watertight integration of roof protrusions with the main structure
• Swimming pool shell: Used as an integral admixture to create an active crystalline barrier within the concrete, maintaining watertightness under long-term hydrostatic pressure
2. DS 1 — applied as a dry-shake surface treatment on freshly poured concrete slabs, including:
• All outdoor terraces
• Rooftop slab
• All bathroom and restroom floors
