Zady One Power Station
Berber, Sudan
Ensuring the durability and integrity of the power control room's roof, covering 1,035 m², was a major challenge. The project team, formed by Masabeeh Engineering Consultancy Co. Ltd and the applicator Uniseal Construction Chemicals Co. Ltd., was tasked with choosing the most effective waterproofing method to protect this vital structure from water damage. The project team selected Xypex Crystalline Technology.
They selected the unique Xypex Crystalline Technology, renowned for its superior waterproofing and protection features. The choice of Xypex Concentrate, a cement based mix that chemically integrates with the concrete to form a crystalline structure, rendering the concrete impermeable from within. It can be applied as a slurry coat on both the positive and negative sides of concrete structures, making it permanently waterproof, chemically resistant, and able to self-heal cracks up to 0.5 mm, which significantly enhances the concrete structure’s service life.
The choice of Xypex products highlights the project's commitment to leveraging advanced materials and techniques. Employing this sophisticated technology to ensure the Zady One Power Station's operational efficiency and safety not only guarantees the project's success but also aligns with the broader objectives of boosting Sudan's agricultural and industrial sectors.
