General Construction-Foundation Projects

In 1995, the Lascelles Wharf facility in Geelong, Australia, underwent an upgrade to address the degradation of its existing structures. The facility replaced these elements with durable slabs designed to withstand the conditions of a high-wear, chemically aggressive marine environment. The design mix for these slabs incorporated Xypex Admix C-Series to meet the project’s requirements, ensuring strength, durability, and water impermeability.

In 2018, Covenant University in Lagos, Nigeria, undertook a significant waterproofing and concrete protection project involving two mathematics halls and a hall of residence. The project utilized Xypex Admix, Xypex Concentrate, and Xypex Modified to ensure the highest level of durability and integrity in the treated areas.

In 2018, the Egbin Power Station in Lagos, Nigeria, undertook a significant construction project involving the stabilization of foundations and the construction of a fence. The project spanned 15 months and was marked by a critical design change midway, requiring the piles to be fabricated on land and then submerged in water. Xypex products were chosen for their proven reliability and ability to meet the project's demanding requirements.

In 2023, the Eko Atlantic project in Lagos, Nigeria, focused on the waterproofing of a concrete water tank, with Lymex Ltd as the contractor. The project aimed to enhance environmental protection, reduce material costs, and extend the service life of the water tank. The Yodobashi Umeda Tower project in Osaka, Japan, is a significant investment in retail, entertainment, and urban development. It aims to create an engaging destination while boosting the economic and cultural vitality of Osaka's Umeda district. The tower stands 149.9 meters tall with 35 above-ground stories, housing commercial facilities on the lower levels and the Hanshin-Hankyu Hotel above. Additionally, it features four levels of underground parking.

For the Address East Compound project in New Cairo, Egypt, owned by Dorra Group, Shield for Specialized Constructions executed the waterproofing, using specifications and materials supplied by Beton, the Xypex agent in Egypt. The project utilized Xypex Concentrate for its critical waterproofing needs, including roofs, foundations, swimming pools, and water features.

In the picturesque northernmost city of Flensburg, Germany an ambitious project was undertaken to transform a section of an old German navy base into a new focal point for tourism, leveraging its stunning views of the Baltic Sea harbor and the quaint old town center. 

To waterproof and safeguard new grain silos in Behira, Smouha, and Bani Mazar, Elmenya, contractors applied Xypex Admix C 1000 NF to the horizontal slabs and used Xypex Concentrate for wall repairs. This approach was specifically designed to shield the structures from up to 8 meters of hydrostatic pressure, thereby enhancing their durability and waterproofing capabilities. The use of Xypex products in this project markedly increased the concrete's durability and the silos' overall longevity, ensuring they remain resilient against environmental pressures.

Hamra Port in Alamin City, on the North Coast of Egypt used Xypex Admix C-1000 NF in the concrete to enhance durability against seawater, specifically targeting the raft slab and buildings over the sea. This method marks a pioneering approach to coastal residential construction, emphasizing long-term structural integrity.

In the breathtaking alpine setting of Lech, Austria, at 1,780 meters above sea level, Skyspace-Lech stands as an architectural marvel designed by James Turrell. This project, realized by Baumschlager Eberle Architekten, faced the formidable challenge of integrating this circular underground structure into the rugged mountainous landscape, offering visitors unique views that connect the Biberkopf summit and Bürstegg village with the Omeshorn mountain.
